Vision
EPTDO/EVN’s vision is to improve the quality of life through ensuring a protected, safe and healthy environment. It also contributes to develop communities and building public awareness. WPTDO-EVN is also working to combat against the climate crisis and promote social, economic and community well-being, as well as sustainable lifestyles, resilience, agriculture and livelihood approaches of the people of Afghanistan.
Mission
To protect, improve and restore our environment through national and international programs, partnerships, scientific knowledge and working with others.
Objectives
Environmental Protection, Trainings and Development Organization (EPTDO), in conjunction with its affiliated network of environmental activists, experts and practitioners in the Environmental Volunteer Network (EVN), share the following objectives:
- Reduce air, water and land pollutions:
- Conducting seasonal programs for promoting a sustainable society through public awareness, capacity building and other development programs and projects to reduce air, water and land pollutions.
- Establish mechanisms for protecting the enjoyment of the environment by managing garbage and rubbish clean-ups in public places such that communities experience noticeable improvements and can maintain those improvements.
- Conduct campaigns/public awareness programs for reducing air pollution, water pollution, land pollution and noise-pollution in big cities on a quarterly basis with an emphasis on appropriate fuels, air filtration and planning.
- Implement the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG’s) in every part of Afghanistan and chart the progress toward improvements in all 17 SDG’s.
- Climate resilience and livelihood approaches:
- Implement the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG’s) in every part of Afghanistan and chart the progress toward improvements in all 17 SDG’s.
- Implement national and international climate change projects as opportunities arise.
- Create and promote plantings, care, and preservation of trees, shrubbery, flowers and plants to improve green spaces throughout all regions of Afghanistan, especially in high-pollution and high-lung disease areas.
- Care for vulnerable animals, species, and ecosystems that are vital to biodiversity.
- Provide training in health-improving behaviors and social services for the most vulnerable people in the country.
- Stabilize gender equality in the country through focusing on women’s contribution to a cleaner, healthier, more sustainable environment through working gender committees.
